What Are The Various Forms Of Bail?

Not being able to afford bail may not be a problem – cash isn’t the only way you can pay for bail. It’s expensive and can be very tough to get that kind of money so quickly. Thankfully, there are various forms of bail so that everyone who is eligible for bail, has the opportunity to bail.

Cash bail – as we said cash bail is the initial bail form. The defendant will pay the court 100% of the bail in cash. This cash bail is refundable as long as the defendant obeys the terms of his or her release.

Bail bond – the defendant will get a bail bond from a bail bond agency. The defendant pays a small premium fee to the agency, much less than their actual bail amount. This premium is not refundable.

Property bond – the defendant, or someone on their behalf, will pledge property, which will be returned as long as the defendant obeys the terms of his or her release.

Own recognizance – the defendant actually does not need to pay anything. He or she signs a form promising to obey the terms of his or her release.

Federal bond – these apply when a federal case is handled outside local or state jurisdiction. The defendant must have two people agree to sign the bond, acknowledging that they are 1) financially able to pay the full bond amount, and 2) will actually do so if the defendant does not obey the terms of his or her release.

Immigration bond – these are generally more expensive than regular bail bonds, but still more affordable than cash bail. These are available only for immigrants.

New Laws For Drone Usage In California Are Coming

south gate-bail bonds

Have drones gotten a little too out of control? They’re cool gadgets to have to take fun and awesome photos and video (did you see the one that flew through fireworks to capture video?), but as more people get their hands on these fliers, more issues and complaints have risen. Most recently you’ve probably heard in the news:

• Invading private property
• Threatening and endangering large aircrafts like airplanes and helicopters

Well California, some new laws might be put into place. One would ban drones from flying below 350 feet over private property without the owner’s or tenant’s consent. People don’t want to have to worry about a drone flying around their backyard or trying to peep through their window.

Another law would allow police and firemen to destroy drones if it is interfering with their line of work. Drones may be small but they pose a huge threat to the guys flying in the air. If the drone collides with a helicopter or plane, it could damage a propeller, cause engine failure, and they could crash. And when there is, for example, a huge fire to put out, drones flying in the way delay helicopters and firefighters from doing their job.

Reports of unfriendly drone encounters have increased recently so if you have a drone or plan on getting one, keep yourself informed with all the debate going around. You don’t want to fly it somewhere and then end up in legal trouble and/ or with a broken drone.

If for some reason you find yourself in jail all from a misunderstanding of a drone, or abusing your drone and disobeying the law, you can post bail with an South Gate bail bond.
